Lei Chen was born in Jingzhou City, Hubei Province, P.R. China in 1982. He received both the B.S. degree and the Ph.D. degree from the School of Electrical and Electronic Engineering, Huazhong University of Science and Technology (HUST), Hubei in 2004 and in 2010, both in electrical engineering.
From 2011 to 2013, He was working at the Post-Doctoral Scientific Research Workstation of Hubei Electric Power Company. From 2016 to 2017, He was a Visiting scholar at Energy Research Institute, Nanyang Technological University (ERI@N).
Currently, He is an Associate Professor of the School of Electrical Engineering, Wuhan University. He has authored more than 80 articles. His research interests include power system simulation, smart grid, and superconducting power application.
