THANK YOU FOR MAKING POWERACE 2018 A HUGE SUCCESS!
Congratulations to our top 3 winners of the PowerACE 2018 competition; The winning company was Advanced Vision Analytics Pte Ltd (AVA Asia), who received a grant amount of SGD50,000 from Enterprise Singapore. The first runner-up was Lumani Pte Ltd and the second runner-up was Metron APAC Pte Ltd.
The Sustainable Energy Association of Singapore (SEAS) inaugurated PowerACE 2018, a first-time competition for start-ups that aims to fire up Singapore’s clean energy ecosystem. The event is being hosted under the SEAS’ Asia Clean Energy Summit (ACES) 2018.
SEAS did a worldwide call for submissions and received more than 50 entries. Thirteen start-ups were chosen since early August and were given an opportunity to pitch and display their products and services at the ACES Innovation Arena, a pitching area for these companies either working directly in the energy sector or which provide support to companies in the energy industry. It was conceptualised as a platform for sharing ideas and innovations with investors and large corporations looking to supplement their existing business.
The key themes covered in the finale event are:
• Digital applications,
• Decentralised and off-grid systems,
• Clean energy (renewables, energy efficiency), and
• New frontier technologies (AI, blockchain, IoT).
Guest-of-honour Singapore Senior Minister of State of the Ministry of the Environment and Water Resources Dr Amy Khor, speaking to the competitors, said: “I am inspired to see so many clean energy start-ups here today, which bodes well for the development of the clean-energy ecosystem in Singapore. This is an excellent platform to share your ideas, receive valuable feedback, and perhaps bring them a step closer to commercialisation.”
Companies chosen benefitted from mentoring by industry professionals to help them to refine their business models as well as greater visibility.
