Yue Tu powers Microsoft’s cloud. As Microsoft expands its online and cloud services for consumers and businesses around the globe, energy has become an important raw material of the cloud. He manages the energy infrastructure investment, renewable energy procurement and strategy of Microsoft’s datacenters in Asia-Pacific region. To date, Microsoft has contracted over 1.2 GW of long term wind and solar renewable energy purchases. 9 years ago, he began his career at Pacific Gas and Electric focusing on energy procurement and renewable strategy.
Yue graduated from the University of California, Berkeley with a BS in Industrial Engineering and Operations Research. He is in his second year of his MBA at the University of Washington with an emphasis on data science and artificial intelligence. In his remaining spare time, he enjoys traveling and the outdoors.
