Dr Mauro Pravettoni

Dr Mauro Pravettoni is Senior Research Fellow at the National University of Singapore, in the Solar Energy Research Institute (SERIS). He got his PhD in Solid State Physics at the Imperial College London. He is member of IEC/TC82 for the development of international standards and of the British Society for the Philosophy of Science. After some brief experiences as consultant and in the industry, from 2007 to 2010 he was contract agent at the European Solar Test Installation (ESTI), Joint Research Centre of the European Commission, the first centre worldwide in the development of standards for PV. From 2010 to 2016 Dr Pravettoni was associate researcher at the University of Applied Science and Arts of Southern Switzerland (SUPSI), in a IEC/ISO 17025 accredited laboratory. Since September 2017 he is at SERIS where he transfers pre-normative activities from PV module development to PV module testing and acts in as IEC expert for Switzerland and observer for Singapore. He wrote 20+ peer-reviewed papers, books, and a number of conference proceedings; in 2008 he co-developed the world record efficiency luminescent solar concentrator.
