Mlinda Foundation and Board Member, The Alliance for Rural Electrification (ARE)
Until recently Rebecca was Executive Director of Mlinda Foundation, based in the UK with rural electrification Programme in Jharkhand, India. Through its Indian Entity, the Mlinda Private The Mlinda Sustainable Environment Private limited company, the oganisation has commissioned over 32 mini-grids in the past 18 months serving 4000 households and is on track to commission 50 by 2020. Mlinda's objective is that these grids lead to financially and environmentally sustainable economic growth for the communities they serve in a scalable and replicable manner. Rebecca now serves on the board of the Alliance for Rural Electrification and remains a Trustee of the Mlinda Foundation. She has a background with NGOS and several UN agencies working on human rights and governance in development and humanitarian contexts globally. She holds degrees from Harvard kennedy School, LSE/SOAS and Sussex Universities.
